Ricardo Omuto Goes Back to Roots in New Song 'Abantu', Gets Extra Emotional and Cultural

Singer Ricardo Omuto has returned back to the roots in his new song called 'Abantu' through which he narrates the horrible hearts of some people and why he gave up on pleasing everyone, he sings Lusoga and also praises Buganda for fighting to improve people's ways and behaviors.

Through this new song, Ricardo also pays tribute to his later mother while he asks her to send his greeting to his father as well. The song goes ahead and hails praises to God for always laying a helping hand of safety for him.

Abantu is a Luganda word which means 'People' when translated to English and the song is Ricardo's third single since he released his E.P. Ricardo Omuto and singles like; Suna and Awo.

Richard Kibaale, also known as Ricardo Omuto is a talented Ugandan singer and songwriter who grew up in Nalukolongo, Kampala surbub.

He is well known for begining his music career at a young age as he began singing at the age of five. His first single, Nafe tuli baana, was released in 2006.

His mother, Regina Nalukwata, was a famous Kadongo Kamu performer who died in 2012.

Ricardo Omuto received his primary education at Happy Years Primary School in Kampala before moving on to Pride College School in Mpigi and Buddo Senior Secondary School in 2018 then started online self-learning and practicing music producing techniques in 2019 from his brother's guest room in Muyenga. He also later on took part in music seminars and initiatives in Uganda, such as "The Motiv Media Program," which was run by Swangz Avenue and Motiv and conducted at the Motiv Makers-space in Kampala. He later attended the YES Academy Uganda 2021 and 2022, which was co-sponsored by American Voices and the US Embassy in Kampala.
