Rotarian Prof. Angela Wells from RC Southwestern Louisiana Rotary has developed a Smart 'Pills Reminder' Mobile App which is also a lifesaver for diabetes patients in rural Uganda as of now, and this is expected to be used by everyone with diabetes worldwide.
It is known that his groundbreaking mobile application called the Smart Pills Reminder App, has been launched by Prof. Angela R. Wells, a renowned technologist, and her team of software engineers designed specifically for diabetes patients.
What Does The App Do?
This innovative app aims to simplify medication management, ensuring users take the correct medicine at the right time.
What sets the Smart Pills Reminder App apart from others are its specialized features tailored to the needs of individuals with diabetes. In addition to medication reminders, the app allows users to track their blood sugar levels and offers offline accessibility, making it highly practical for rural communities with limited internet connectivity.

While talking to Prof. Wells, she this app is mainly designed to address the challenges faced by diabetes patients in undeserved communities especially in developing countries like Uganda. More to this, she explains that this will help in adherence to medication.
“Our goal was to create a tool that addresses the unique challenges faced by under-served communities in Uganda. With this app, we hope to improve medication adherence and overall health outcomes for diabetes patients.” quipped Prof. Wells.
