Controversial musician Patrick Mulwana aka Alien Skin has officially embraced Islam, marking a transformative chapter in his life with a private conversion ceremony held at his Fangone Forest home, where Sheikh Zabadu Ssali Katumba presided over the ritual.
Formerly a Christian, Alien Skin, famously known as Kimenke, had hinted at his plans to convert last month during press conferences shortly after his release from Luzira Upper Prison.
Initially, the artist stated he would take the Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) at Old Kampala Mosque but later opted for a more intimate setting.
The conversion comes amid a tumultuous period in Alien Skin’s life, including allegations of theft and assault against Nsambya Hospital staff. These challenges appear to have spurred a spiritual awakening, leading him to reevaluate his path.
Alien Skin joins the growing list of prominent figures in Uganda who have converted to Islam. Speaking after the ceremony, he expressed optimism about his new faith and promised fans that this was a new beginning, both spiritually and personally.
