Longtime TV presenter and city Deejay, Lynda Ddane has opened up about her near death experience with her first love, the high school boyfriend her mother told her to settle down with despite all the hardships she used to go through.
Appearing on a local podcast, Lynda Ddane opened up about her very first serious relationship that almost killed her despite being tired of the boy she was in love with.
Ddane stated that this toxic romance was greatly influenced by her mother’s piece of advice that a woman must settle with the man she meets, a myth she considers to be the worst counsel she has ever received.
"I love my mother so much but the worst advice I ever got in my life was from her. She told us to settle down but I tried it and it almost killed me.
You know how they make us listen to all these fairytale stories of how the guy you meet in high school is probably the one you are going to marry.
And then somehow there is that African tradition side that they add to it of how you have to make it work; so, you have all this in your head and if it doesn’t work, it is your fault.
If forcing life was a person, it was me by then. But I realized I was all over the place and snapped out of it,” Lynda Ddane said. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. So many people have different timings. I think that is the one thing that they forgot to tell. Our timings are different and it’s not always the textbook kind of person they put in our heads. You never know who your person is going to be and I don’t think they tell people that all the time because they come out expecting their relationships to be in a certain way,"- Lynda Ddane confessed.
Meanwhile, Lynda is now rumored to be dating fellow NTV Da Beat presenter, DJ Bryan and that the two have been together for the past few years greatly in love with each other.
