Eight Goals in One Match: Onduparaka FC Sends Kyetume FC Back to the Gutters

Onduparaka FC  on Friday 8th November, 2019 beat new league entrants Kyetume FC 7:1 to inflict a heaviest league defeat on the "Slaughters".

The Caterpillars scored through the day's hat-trick heroes Julius Malingumu 21',62',79 and Malish Jamal 52',56',68. The other goal came from former Villa forward Abdulmalik Vitalis Tabu. The Visitors had equalised in the 42nd minute through Deo Isejji but the home side reacted ruthlessly to win 7:1.

The win is Onduparaka's seventh of the season and puts them on 23 points, three above SC Villa who dropped to fourth as the Arua side took on in the third position. However, the Joggos can reclaim the third position tomorrow 9th November with a win against the Bright Stars.

For Kyetume, the loss is their sixth of the season, winning five, drawing once and remain seventh on the table with sixteen points a negative goal difference of four. In the other day's fixture played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso Giants were 2:1 winners against Busoga United.

Vianne Ssekajugo and Karim Nduggwa were on target for the Purple Sharks whereas Busoga's consolation was from Otwao Abubaker. The win was Steven Bengo's first since he took on reigns when former coach Kefa Kisala was axed. His first match in charge was a 1:0 loss to Vipers.

It is the club's first win since 13th October when they beat Proline 2:1. since then, they had endured a losing run of three matches, 2:1 away to Police, 0:3 loss at home to Express and the most recent 1:0 to Vipers. The win took their points tally of the season to 16 and are now eighth on the table. Lawrence Bukenya was named the Pilsner man of the match.
