Uganda’s style icon, Titus Brian Ahumuza, aka Abryanz, has shocked his fans after turning down a nomination for the Pulse Influencer Awards and instead threw his weight behind singer Elijah Kitaka as the best candidate for Fashion Influencer of the Year.
Over the years, Abryanz has become a household name, building a fashion empire that speaks for itself. From jaw-dropping red carpet looks to pushing the boundaries of Uganda’s fashion scene, he’s earned his stripes as one of the country’s top trendsetters. His impact hasn’t just been local – Abryanz has scooped multiple awards, both at home and on the international stage, thanks to his impeccable style and influence.
So when his name appeared on this year’s Pulse Influencer Awards nominee list, many expected another win. In the category of Fashion Influencer of the Year, Abryanz was set to battle it out with big names like Real Homie Quan, Kissinger The Creator, Fatuma Ahasha, Oscar Kampala, Sheilah Gashumba, Tay Sosho, Tazibone Solomon, Denim Cartel, and Q Senior Fashionkiller.
However, in a surprising twist, Abryanz took to social media, humbly declining the nomination and handing the spotlight over to Kitaka, whom he believes has outshone everyone in the style department this year.
“Replace me with @elijah kitaka,” Abryanz wrote.
Kitaka, known for his unique style and artistry, has indeed had a standout year, making this a well-deserved nod.
