Singer Michael Mukwaya, aka Mikie Wine, has opened up about the reasons behind the unexpected end of his marriage with Shazny Khan. The couple, who had tied the knot in a traditional ceremony and share two children, left many fans in shock when news of their separation surfaced.

Mikie Wine rekindled his romance with his long-time ex-girlfriend, Pauline, leaving many to wonder what exactly went down.

During an appearance on a local TV show, the Sulubada High School CEO shed light on his decision, explaining that he had come to an important realization about the difference between what he needed and what he truly wanted.

“It’s about being honest with yourself,” Mikie Wine shared. “I realized that I had what I needed, but I wasn’t truly happy because I wasn’t pursuing what I wanted. So, I decided to stop living in denial and go after my true desires.”

However, this decision hasn’t come without its fair share of criticism. Many fans and followers have expressed disappointment, feeling that Mikie Wine’s actions may have been unfair to his former wife. But the "Yanimba" hitmaker is unfazed by the backlash, attributing it partly to the buzz surrounding his upcoming concert next month.

“People love drama, especially when there’s a big event around the corner,” Mikie Wine remarked with a knowing smile. “But honestly, there’s no bad blood between me and my ex-wife. We’re great co-parents, and I respect her deeply. She’s the mother of my kids, and I would never disrespect her or our children by speaking ill of her.”

On a different note, Mikie Wine also took a moment to address his relationship with fellow singer Eddy Kenzo. Despite rumors of tension, Mikie was quick to dispel any notions of bad blood between the two, recalling how their collaboration on the hit song "Yanimba" helped launch Kenzo’s career.
