Indian Legendary Singer Abhijeet Thrills Fans In Uganda At a Charity Concert in Kampala

Indian legendary singer Shri Abhijeet thrilled the Indians in Uganda that gathered in Uganda Manufacture’s Association (UMA) multipurpose hall, Kampala for a charity concert that was organised by Bengali Association Uganda (BAUL) and sponsored by paint company Kansai Plascon Uganda.


The sold-out VIP concert whose proceeds will go to building classroom blocks at Kitante Primary School, Kampala warmed up the attendees’ evening as they enjoyed Abhijeet’s live band performance.
Accompanied by 7 band members, the singer known for his romantic songs took to stage at a few minutes to 10 after a brief performance by a curtain raiser.

Abhijeet serenaded his fans as he sung his famous songs that that the crowd enjoyed throughout his performance. He also introduced his son Jai Bhattacharya (also a singer) who also performed a few of his songs for the excited crowd as well.

If the warm reception the crowd gave him is anything to go by, then the revellers truly got captivated by his performance which ended a few minutes to midnight.

Daniel Kayongo who is the brand manager Plascon Paint said that the company will continue to support the Indian community in Uganda because of their importance to the country.

Daniel also added that this wasn’t the first time Plascon have sponsored Indian events, as have been the same with other events like the annual Holi Festival, and one last year when the Indian Association In Uganda celebrated 101 years.

The Bengali Association Uganda (BAUL) is a close-knit community of individuals and families who share a deep connection to the rich and diverse culture of Bengal, India. Despite their geographical distance from their ancestral land, they come together to keep the spirit of Bengal alive in the heart of Uganda.
