The National Unity Platform (NUP) party, unveiled the first ever opposition leadership institute in Uganda, which will be used to teach various political and socio-economic disciplines to party members and all willing Ugandans, here Bobi Wine explains why:

The National Unity Platform School of Leadership, launched on Monday by the party president, Mr Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is situated at the former NUP headquarters, in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb.

Addressing the gathering at the grand opening of the institute, Mr Kyagulanyi noted that it aims to debunk the government's deliberate intentions to keep Ugandans in 'darkness' by abolishing political education in schools and higher institutions of learning.

Through a statement via their social media, they posted;

"We’ve officially opened the National Unity Platform School of Leadership at our former headquarters in Kamwokya which we intend to use to groom a new breed of vibrant young leaders.

At this academy, enrollment shall be open for all and we have categorized our learners into three sets where the first category is for the informal sector, the second for professionals and the last is for elected leaders.

Modules to be taught shall be about the party ideology, political history of Uganda, modern economics, communication skills & the art of political communication, principles and institutions of political leadership, strategies for political change, Local Government administrative framework in Uganda, Elections in Uganda, conflict resolution in politics, balancing the struggle, work and family, among others.

The graduates from the school shall be rooted in patriotism, transparency, accountability and incorruptibility, among other values.
