Nephew of Slain Clan Leader Reportedly Goes into Hiding After Witnessing the Shocking Murder

As Buganda Kingdom is still mourning the death of Omutaka Lomwa Engineer Daniel Bbosa, the head of Ndiga Clan who was ruthlessly gunned down in a targeted attack on February 25, 2024, latest reports claim that his nephew, Mumbere Jockus Kalekene is in hiding after witnessing the assiliants.

According to reports, Mumbere Jockus Kalekene, was on his way back from a nearby supermarket when he witnessed the gruesome murder of his uncle who was driving back home a few meter away. Eng Bbosa was with his wife and daughter in the car.

Jockus, having witnessed the assailants on a boda boda firing out multiple bullets on Bbosa's car, he provided a vital testimony to the police and was let go after making a statement. To his surprise a few days later at night as he was walking back home with his sister, it is reported that he was grabbed again by men in Uniform and whisked away to an unknown location after the sister had captured some photos on her phone.

Mumbere Jockus Kalekene's arrest

One week later, Jockus mysteriously vanishing from the police Sources suggest that Jockus managed to escape, seeking refuge in a hospital due to severe torture wounds inflicted during his time in police custody.

The murder of Omutaka Lomwa Engineer Daniel Bbosa  took place near Bbosa's residence in the Lungujja suburbs, the same vicinity where an earlier attack claimed the life of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo's SFC bodyguard, Richard Muhumuza.

The motive behind the targeted attack on Daniel Bbosa, who was driving with his wife and daughter, remains unknown upto date. Authorities are intensifying efforts to locate and question Jockus, hoping that his familial connection may unravel clues about the motive behind the heinous crime.

Meanwhile, citizens anxiously await updates on the investigation and the potential reappearance of the elusive Mumbere Jockus Kalekene who is currently in hiding as the police continues his hunt.

The incident further highlights the growing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies as violence escalates in the region. The police crime report for 2023, released by Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola, indicates a worrying surge in gun violence, with over 300 victims recorded—up from 279 in 2022.
