A 41 Year old Hillside College Mityana Dean, Mr. Kato John Ssenfuma, was arrested and is currently being held at Kanyanya Territorial Police after being caught on allegations of attempting to defile a 15-year-old girl, a student at the same school where he teaches.
The arrest follows a complaint lodged by Ms. Sheilah, 26 years old, a resident of Kyebando Erisa Zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala District, who is the guardian of the 15-year-old student.
Ms. Sheilah went to Police and reported that the family became aware of Mr. Ssenfuma's communication with the juvenile through WhatsApp, prompting his invitation to their premises.
On January 13, 2024, Mr. Ssenfuma traveled to the designated venue and was subsequently apprehended upon arrival. An examination by a Police surgeon confirmed the well-being of the victim, as the intended activity did not transpire.
The case file has been submitted to the office of the Resident State Attorney, and the Kanyanya Police has received guidance on the next steps. The file is pending resubmission for sanctioning, and the suspect will face charges as determined by the Prosecution.
According to the leaked WhatsApp messages, it is evident that Ssenfuma John went to the home of his student whose names are withheld, and started to do mature things with the juvenile student.
It all starts as Ssenfuma John asks whether he could see the young girl in a social way. She did not let him down, and she instead asked him to hire a room and they meet there. Ssenfuma rejected the proposal and instead wanted to offer her that money that they could use to hire a lodge since she wanted some money that time.
In a few moments, she tells him that she was home alone, and wondered whether Ssenfuma John could just go to her place and they have sweet moments there since her auntie had left home at that time. It seems the two have been knowing each other for quite some good time, according to the flow of these messages.
Careful John asked if there would be no one to see them especially the neighbors. And asked the girl to instead go to Kayunga and sleep there.
The girl assured him that all was good and safe he would instead join her at her home. She sent him her address which is Kyebando, Erisa Road at Jericho church.
He ended up going there and the rest is history. He was apprehended by police and is under custody as investigations go on. Two packets of Kiss condoms and a 1,000 shillings note were recovered from his pockets at the time of arrest.
