Latest reports coming through fron Kigo Prison allege that Makindye West Member of Parliament, Allan Ssewanyana who was arrested with Muhammad Ssegirinya is fighting for his life after he fell sick back in December 2022 and has never reported to a proffesionall hospital for help.
According to info released by Ekyooto, efforts are underway to smuggle the sickly Makindye West legislator Allan Ssewanyana who is said to be bedridden.
A prison warden who confided in this publication intimates that prison service authorities are stuck with the frail lawmaker Allan Ssewanyana whose condition has drastically deteriorated since the start of the year.
It is reported that authorities at Kigo prison are consulting the Commissioner general of government prison Dr. Johnson Byabashaija to clear Hon. Ssewanyana to be taken to Mulago national referral hospital for better treatment.
It should be recalled that the two makers have as one of their bail grounds tasked the judiciary to allow them access their medication from their experts in nearby countries but all this has been rejected.
The MPs Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North spent their second consecutive Christmas in prison as state prosecutors led by Richard Birivumbuka.
Ssewanyana is said to be in comma and efforts are being pursued to have him taken to Mulago for proper medical management as the Kigo clinic which is below Health Centre IV level cannot handle his condition.
