Defending champions Uganda Christian University (UCU) picked up a narrow 1-0 win over former champions Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) in the first leg of their 2022 Pepsi University Football League semi-final played today Thursday in Mukono on Thursday.
Ofoywroth Isaac gave hosts UCU the lead in the 12" and it turned out to be the only goal of the game despite efforts from both sides.
Goal scorer Ofoyrwoth was shown red in the 58" leaving UCU to work hard to defend their lead as Uganda Martyrs Kasozi Kennedy was also shown red in the 87".
The match ended 1-0 setting up what will surely be an exciting return leg next week 27th October in Nkozi.
Action in the Pepsi University Football League semi-finals continues on Tuesday 25th October 2022 when St. Lawrence University host Makerere University Business School (MUBS) who replaced Kyambogo University I following their successful petition over the latter's use of an impersonator during their quarter-final second leg win at Nakawa.
