The 2022 Masaza Cup tournament has reached the semi finals but leaving mixed reactions amongst its fans after across the region having already drawn the path to semi finals but changi it and the end.
The new fixtures indicate that Buddu host Bulemeezi and Ssingo host Busiro in the first legs scheduled for 9th October and second legs slated for 16th October 2022.
According to the path to the finals drawn earlier from the group stages, Buddu would meet Ssingo in a replica of 2015 and 2018 finals whereas Busiro would tussle it out with Bulemeezi, in a repeat of 2019 finals.
According the the executive committee, the fixtures were changed because the sides were in the same groups.
However, this is not satisfying enough at the level of semifinals as we have witnessed teams in bigger tournaments and ewe look up to play each other at semi finals even when they were in the same groups.
Public opinion has it that the organizing committee dictates who plays the finals depending on who they think have a bigger support a thing that has left bias amongst other Masaza team supporters across the region
