Match day seven of the 2022 Masaza cup tournament climaxed on Sunday 14th August with four fixtures yielding ten goals. Ssingo playing at home against Buddu and loosing 1:0 courtesy of Ayeman Twaha’s goal in the 23rd minute.

The win for Ibrahim Kirya’s side meant Buddu completed a double over singo this campaign after they won the first leg with an identical score in Masaka.

The loss by Ssingo means they have lost two in seven matches this season with both losses coming against the same opponent-Buddu.

The match was marred with mixed emotions following the home fans (Ssingo) get dissatisfied with the referee’s officiation when he denied Ssingo a penalty after Ssekaayi Farouk was brought down in the forbidden area.

Chants in the supporters of Ssingo were heard saying the referee was bribed and then denying Ssingo a penalty sparked off mixed reactions and hence police tear gassed the spectators. The fans were also arguing that the referee has officiated three matches in which Ssingo has played a thing they were against.

It is also said that former Ssingo Saza chief Omukwenda Mbalire Godfrey who helped the side to its two championships crossed to Buddu and this brought about more mixed reactions.

Despite the result, Ssingo remain at the table summit with 15 points from seven matches and a win takes Buddu to 11 points in second position with Kyadondo who drew 1:1 with Buluuli descending to third.
