Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers FC played and won a friendly match against Tanzania’s entity Young FC 2:0 on Saturday 6th August, 2022.

Milton Karisa and Bright Anukani found the back of the net to guide the Venoms to a 2-0 victory over Tanzanian champions Young Africans SC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salam. Young FC is one of East Africa’s big clubs and a win against them can’t just go unnoticed!

Here we bring to you reasons why the Lawrance Mulindwa owned side will possibly dominate the next ten seasons of the Uganda Premier League.

Having won four league titles in the last ten seasons with KCCA FC winnning five and Express FC once, the preparations ahead of the new season tell that Vipers SC is now well established.

From owning their home Playground, the st. Mary’s Stadium Kitende to winning three titles in the last five seasons, it is easy to tell that Vipers’ progress is undoubtedly at its highest.

Taking a look at the level of staff being recruited ranging from coaching to playing staff, one can realize that the club is beyond local competition and is eying continental competence.

In this transfer window, the Venoms have already signed Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, Olivier Omadjondo Osomba, Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Ashraf Mandela, Abdu Lumala adding them to an already strong team of last season that won the league and lost in Uganda Cup finals to Bul FC.

The nature of players signed in relation to their rivals’ speak volumes of how the club is far away from local competitors like their immediate nemesis KCCA FC who they closely competed with in the last ten seasons.

It is also said that Tadeo Lwanga who ended his stint at Simba Sc is likely to return home at the Venoms. The player was seen at the Vipers camp in Tanzania as the Robertinho coached side prepared for the match against the Tanzanian outfits.

Their recruiting policy tells it all that the Venoms are aiming at dominating both at local and continental levels.
