Manchester United played and drew 1:1 in their last pre-season match against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday 31st July, 2022. Thanks to Amad Dialo goal that gave the Red Devils the lead in the 48th minute with Álvaro García Rivera giving the Spanish side parity four minutes later.

Despite the draw, it was the third match United went without winning, following a 1:0 loss to Atletical Madrid and a 2:2 stalemate with Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa. This does not reflect a good image of a side that won the first three matches, scoring 11 times and conceding only two.

The last three matches have seen the Eric Ten Hag side score only three goals and conceding four, an indication of poor performance in case a resilient side is encountered.

More so, the Christians Ronaldo saga has not been handled carefully. In the match, the Portuguese made his first appearance under Ten Hag but played only 45 minutes before being substituted.

On being substituted, Ronaldo was seen leaving Old Trafford before full time, a thing that signaled a divided dressing room and that the Ronaldo saga is not resolved yet.

If Ronaldo who scored 24 goals last season leaves, can United survive with only Martial as their lead forward? The club has a lot of questions to answer with who will play in central defense still a question to address, who will play the holding midfield role still undecided?

Man United fans MUST worry about how next season will treat them as no marquee signings are made for the demanding positions.
