Buddu FC and Buwekula Lose First Match of Masaza Cup 2022, Full Update of What Happened

It has been misery for last season’s finalists after the two suffered defeats, their first of the 2022 edition.

Reigning champions Buddu were 2:1 losers away from home to Kyadondo at Mwererwe play ground. Buddu who sacked coach Steven Bogere and were under Andy Ssali for the encounter went down as early as the 6th minute when Ramathan Mwanga scored for Kyadondo.

Kyadondo doubled the lead in the 58th minute through Samuel Kayondo. Allan Sserunga had given the reigning champions hopes with a goal in the 78th minute but only turned out in a consolation at full time whistle.

Last season’s runners up also fell to a 3:1 home loss to visitors Kabula. Buwekula who led the match in the 23rd minute through Micheal Abula lost momentum and hence fell to goals from Shakiru Lubega,Joseph Musiige and Ibra Ssengooba.

Record champions Gomba at home ground Kabulasoke beat Mawokota 3:1 and currently lead group two with seven points, Buwekula are second with six points and Butambala are third on five points. Kabula displaced Kooki from fifth position with a win against Buwekula and currently stand on three points.

At Mityana Saza play ground, Amuli Mukasa scored the only goal as Singo beat Buluuli to maintain a perfect start to the season with four wins in as many matches and stand at the top of group one with 12 points.
