Makerere University Docked Six Points and Six Goals as Disciplinary Committee Issues Rulings

The University Football League Disciplinary panel has given its ruling over three matches one of which is an encounter between YMCA and Makerere University that was not played to full time.

The match was halted and not completed due to fan interruptions after YMCA scored second goal to lead 2-1. The panel has therefore ruled that Makerere University loses the match to YMCA by forfeiture (3-0) but YMCA goals will stand.

Makerere University is also docked 6 points and 6 goals plus a one million Uganda Shillings fine for failure to control their fans.The University has also been given a suspended 5 year suspension from the league.

On the match which was not played between International University of East Africa (IUEA) and Victoria University as the host team IUEA pitch and players were not ready to play within one hour of the scheduled kick-off time, the committee had ruled that IUEA loses the match to Victoria University by forfeiture (3-0).

The committee also fined IUEA 500,000/- for attempting to field non-licensed players.

The other ruling also saw University of Kisubi (UniK) fined 500,000/- for fielding an ineligible player.

Amos Tugume who was discovered prior to game between Muni University and University of Kisubi and stopped from playing is charged of impersonation. The committee also resolved that all UniK players will have to be reverified.

All sides not in content with the decisions as made by the University Football League Disciplinary committee are told to submit in their appeals within 48 hours after the ruling.
