As the 2022 edition of the Masaza Cup draws nearer, the last edition’s champions Buddu have lured the services of top scorer Isaac ‘Messi’ Musiima from Buwekula.
Buwekula were runners up to Buddu in the 2021 Masaza Cup tournament after they slipped to a 2:0 loss to the Masaka side but worse has gotten to worst when the former lost their striking sensation who scored six goals to the reigning champions.
The news reached our desk after Buwekula FC Saza team head coach Frank Mulindwa confirmed to the media on Saturday in the team’s media conference that fans will see new talents at his side meaning the team might have lost more other players of the squad which made it to the finals in March this year.
The 2022 Masaza Cup tournament is unless otherwise scheduled to kick of on 25th June this year with reigning champions Buddu FC hosting any of the opponents in group B, most probably Singo.
For starters, the champions of the previous Masaza Cup edition outrightly take the right to host the opening match of the next edition.
Buwekula is in Group A along side three time champions Mawokota, Butambala, record champions Gomba (5), Kabula and Kooki.
