Kitumbe Eric: How Becoming Blind at 3Months Old Did Not Stop Him From Becoming an I.T Expert, Athlete & Musician

Kitumba Eric was born as any normal child but at 3 months old, 5 Kids in his neighborhood got sick with Measels and 4 of them died, he survived but unfortunately became blind. Even this did not stop him from becoming an in I.T expert, an athlete who won prizes and a musician.

Speaking out to our cameras, Kitumba Eric took us through his life journey of how he grew up in Rwakai with a vision of once becoming one of the people that inspire and change lives.

"Since my childhood, I don't know darkness or light, I have been like that since childhood. They even tried getting me into different surgeries but all of them did not help"- he stated.

Eric later on went to school and started studying at Nyamitanga as a normal child but spent most of his life with Nuns who took care of him and taught him different things.

While at school, he used to do different things like Running in Atheletics and even won a trophy at St. Henries Primary School, he also started studying computer sciences and became an I.T expert who can operate computers and mobile phones.
