Vipers SC spit venom at URA FC with a 3:0 lecturing of the tax collectors and made a statement of seriousness in their quest for another Uganda Premier League title as the win took them to nine points ahead of close competitors KCCA FC.
Defender and also club captain Halid Lwaliwa gave the Venoms the lead at the 27th minute mark before Ceaser Manzoki doubled the lead ten minutes later. It was Yunus Ssentamu who put the icing on the cake in the 63rd minute.
After his impressive display at full time, DR Congo international Ceaser Manzoki was named man of the match and thus walked home with a 100,000/- plaque from Pilsner lager.
The win took Vipers SC to 55 points, nine more than second placed KCCA FC with both sides having seven matches left to play.
In a relegation battle match played st Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City, the Ankole Lions beat Police FC 3:0 to boost their hopes of survival. Augustin Kacancu, Henry Kitegenyi and Solomon Okwalinga scored for the home side to move to two points to safety.
In Jinja, UPDF FC condemned Busoga United to a seventh loss of the season and moved to 30 points in 8th position whereas the latter remained on 26 points in 11th position, four points above relegation.
