Buddu fc Wins Second Masaza Cup After Edging Buwekula FC

Making their fifth Masaza Cup final in seven years, Buddu won their second title edging Buwekula with a 2:0 score. Thanks to goals from captain Marvin Kavuma and Bruno Bunyaga with the latter scoring his sixth goal of the tournament to finish joint top scorer with Buwekula's Isaac "Messi" Musiima.

Buwekula who were in their second final and first in ten years looked a better side for most of the time but fell to a header by Marvin Kavuma and the side got disorganised with few moments later seeing the home side conceed the second goal to surrender all.

Despite Buddu's Bruno Bunyanga finishing level on goals (6), with Buwekula's Isaac "Messi" Musiima, the top scorer's boot was given to the latter who reached the milestone before Bunyanga did.

The best player's award was given to Lutaaya Micheal, the goalkeeper for Buddu Fc whereas Buwekula FC was named the most disciplined team of the tournament.

Winners Buddu bagged 12Mugx with runners up Buwekula pocketing 9M whereas Bulemeezi who edged Mawokota 1:0 in classification match to finish third, walked home with 7M and fourth placed Mawokota took 5M.

The final played at St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende in Wakiso District was the second to be hosted at the same venue after the last edition. It was an edition for the year 2021 but due to COVID-19, it had to go this long.
