The Minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng has today submitted in to the Speaker of Parliament, a confidential report about the health status of Kawempe North MP, Muhammad Ssegirinya whose health has become a National matter.
Hon. Ssegirinyawho is currently admitted at Mulago National Referral Hospital was taken there after his health condition deteriorated while in Prison.
According to reports, Ssegirinya had been detained at Kigo prison and later transferred to the Murchison Bay hospital in Luzira, the national referral hospital for prisoners.
He was first arrested together with his Makindye West counterpart Allan Ssewanyana, on charges of murder, attempted murder, aiding and abetting terrorism, stemming from recent machete killings in the Masaka sub-region. He has since been reported to be unwell.
On Wednesday, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among asked Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng to submit a report on Segirinya’s health, which she submitted this afternoon. Aceng said that she could not present the report to the entire house because of medical ethics.
