The seven medical workers attached to Buwambo Health Center IV had organised a house party where a big number of people gathered which is against the presidential directive.
The operation which started at 10pm in Buwambo village, Nansana municipality, was led by ASP Aleper Thomas who was deputised by Major Tom Lwanga, the leader of Local Defence Unit in Buwambo.
The medical personnel arrested include: Ssembatya Sam, Ssemanda Patrick, Nakidde Hawah, Nalubulwa Olivia, Kasasa Denis,Epiangu Joseph and Kasule Joseph.
Some had tried to resist arrest but were finally subdued by police and LDUs.
Police also raided a popular bar known as “kafunda” which was teeming with revellers. Some of the people managed to escape but the owner of the bar was arrested.
All those arrested where taken to Matugga police, awaiting to be arraigned before in court.
