In a match played at Army Military Barracks Grounds in Bombo, SC Vipers progressed to the Semi Finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after a 2:0 win over 2015 champions SC Villa.
Bobos Byaruhanga and Milton Kariisa Scored for the 2016 champions in the 28th and 76th minutes respectively. Vipers have therefore progressed to the Semi Finals with a 3:1 aggregate score.
Vipers thus join BUL FC in the Semi Finals. The latter beat reigning champions Proline FC 2:1 on aggregate to become the first side to progress the Semi Finals.
The Quarter Finals second legs will be completed on Thursday 3rd June with two fixtures at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. Police FC will take on Wakiso Giants who they beat 3:1 in the first leg at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium as KCCA FC will take on Express FC later in the day. The two played a barren draw in the first leg.
This year's Stanbic Uganda Cup finals will be played in Kitara Region with Masindi Municipal Stadium the hosts.
