American singer Akon rushed to leave Uganda before finalising his program after his son contracted Covid-19 after he had returned to the country for President Yoweri Museveni’s inauguration and investment meetings, but had to cut his trip short after his son got ill.
According to Xclusive sources, Akon left his wife, Rozina Negusei to represent him in exploring all the proposed investment opportunities and indeed, Rozina on Thursday last week travelled to Gulu with a team of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) officials led by the director of operations, Sylvia Owori.
The OWC national coordinator, Gen. Salim Saleh, has of late been based in Gulu. Owori, a renowned fashion designer and businesswoman, was in January this year appointed the director of operations at OWC.
The Senegalese American RnB artist and his wife visited Uganda earlier in April and they met with President Yoweri Museveni. Akon’s wife had earlier visited Kampala in January.
During their April visit, Akon and his wife met with President Museveni and they discussed different investment opportunities in various sectors of Energy, tourism, and infrastructure development, among others.
