In the late hours of Saturday 20th February,2020, the U-20 national football team "The Hippos" playing at their first tournament finals in Mauritania made history as they qualified for the quarter finals for the first time.
Uganda Hippos came from a goal down to beat hosts Mauritania 2:1 and sealed a last eight berth at the tournament.
Silly Sanghale gave the tournament hosts a 39th minute lead before KCCA FC youngster Steven Sserwadda equalized later in the second half in the 59th minute to give the Hippos hope.
Uganda will now wait for the final group games in the other pools to know their quarterfinal opponents.
