History has been written after 'Kony; Order From Above' becoming the first Ugandan Movie ever to be nominated in the annual movie awards called The Oscars.
‘Kony; Order from Above’ has been selected for the 92nd Academy Awards and it is the first ever in history that a Ugandan movie is recognized.
The movie was selected on Wednesday by the Uganda Academy Selection Committee (USASC) as Uganda’s official entry for the 2020 Oscar Awards in the category of best international film.
This marks the very first time Uganda is submitting an entry to the prestigious awards following the launch of the seven-member UASC in July this year.
Popularly known as the Oscars and given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in the United States of America (USA), the awards are an international recognition of excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Academy’s voting membership.
