Singer Oxlade, full name Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman is a Lagis based singer and songwriter who was born on the 22nd of April
Oxlade began his singing career in the same place other greats such as Michael Jackson, Wizkid and even Beyonce started, in church during his Secondary School Days not withstanding his father’s disapproval.
He dropped out of Lagos State University and his father cut him off which nearly made him abandon his music career until Blaqbonez heard his song Sour and agreed to collaborate with him. Davido, Wizkid along with a host of other big wigs also sent him words of encouragement via social media after they heard Oxlade’s song.
THE JOURNEY TO OXYGENE;
The 6 track EP dropped on 27th March, 2020 was produced mainly by spax the producer . One of the tracks Tables Turn features British Nigerian artist Moelogo. Other songs on the album include O2, the break away Mega hit Away, Hold On, Kokose, the uplifting Tables Turn and Weakness. The album he has previously said was inspired by his break up from his ex who left him just before he hit the stage with Davido at the O2 arena in london.

Away, the first track off the EP with a video is beautifully scripted and was shot in the coastal town of Cape Coast in Ghana. The song revolves around Oxlade waiting for his lady love to join him as he whisks her away on a trip and in love with her weary parents looking on . in the song he has a catchy line stating he doesn't care if she's older as he sits on her lap , this is also an ode to the strength of a woman depicting artistically that behind every successful man is a strong woman .
