Buddu Sharpens their Frontline with the Signing of Sharp Shooter Emmanuel Mwesigwa

As the 2020 Airtel Masaza cup tournament only awaits the lifting of COVID-19 lock down to commence, participating sides have not stopped their preparations to attempt for this year’s trophy. Buddu has been one of the serious sides in recruiting players and have lately acquired former Kyadondo forward Emmanuel Mwesigwa. The deal was triggered in the late hours of Friday22nd May, 2020.

Emmanuel Mwesigwa was Kyadondo’s topscorer last season with four (4) goals as he helped his side to finish fourth in the 18 team tournament. Kyadondo lost 2:1to Buddu Ssaza team in the third place play offs last season and according to Buddu team’s mouth piece Chris Kassaga who also doubles as BBS Terefayina sports pundit, the striker will add much to the striking options for the team.

Buddu, champions in 2016 are looking for a second trophy and have already recruited last season’s MVP and winning captain for Bulemeezi Ronald Ssekiganda, and have reportedly signed Satro Edward a two time Masaza cup winning captain with singo and Gomba plus former Singo forward Diego “ Misi” Ssemugera.

The 2020 Airtel Masaza tournament is the 16th edition of its kind having started in 2004 with Gomba Lions winning it on the most occassions (4) with Mpigi based side Mawokota next in the line on three. Singo and Bulemeezi stand in third line of winners.
