Pastor Charles Paddy Kayiwa Dead, Succumbs to Coronavirus in U.K with 7 Other Ugandans

Pastor Charles Paddy Kayiwa is the first Ugandan national to die because of coronavirus and he is among seven Ugandans who have succumbed to coronavirus in the UK.

Pastor Kayiwa's death has been confirmed by Pastor Peter Kasirivu, the founder of Ggaba Community Church who broke the news of Pastor Kayiwa’s death.

“A friend (Pastor Kayiwa), a revivalist, fellow soldier in the kingdom. Has succumbed to the dreaded Corona Virus in London,” he said.

Among other Ugandans that died include; Sarah Acheng, Boniface Okee (Gulu), Susan Onyac (Kitgum), Mego Gatrude Lukeca (Gulu) and Jane Kobong have so far succumbed to the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the UK.

Pastor Kayiwa had a couple of days back tested positive and had been undergoing treatment in London.

UK so far has over 1,200 deaths of coronavirus. As of Sunday, there were 17,089 confirmed cases, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Prince Charles.

The tragedy grew overnight as the virus battle draws comparisons to Britain’s wartime efforts. Tens of thousands are receiving food parcels across the UK as the frontline fight against the coronavirus rages on.
