SC Villa closes gap on second placed KCCA FC to a four points win over Tooro United

In a single match played in the Star Times Uganda Premier league on Saturday 6th March, 2020, record Champions SC Villa won 1:0 against Tooro United at St. Paul Seminary Play ground courtesy of a faisal Muwawu header in the 39th minute assisted by David “Colgate” Owori.

The win, the 13th of the season by the Joggos lifts them to 46 points, only four behind second placed and defending champions KCCA FC. They now trail league leaders Vipers SC by eight points with five matches to the end of the season. Villa stay third on the table on 46 points from 13 wins, 7 draws and 5 losses.

Tooro United’s hopes for survival suffered a big blow with the 15th loss of the season, becoming the only side in the league to lose 15 matches. They sit at the bottom of the table with only 22 points from, six wins, four draws and 15 losses. The Entale Za Tooro’s next five matches don’t seem an seasy task to secure safety. They include; SC Villa (H), Mbarara City(A),Vipers (H), Busoga United (A)and Bright Stars (H).

The will will have a two months recess with match day 26 to start on Tuesday 5th may, 2020 due the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled to take place from 4th to 25th April 2020 in Cameroon.
