Goals galore in Uganda Premier League as Mbarara City and BUL FC register massive wins

The Startimes Uganda Premier League match day 25 has on Wednesday 4th March 2020 witnessed eight goals scored in the two fixtures played. BUL FC playing at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru were the day’s biggest winners with a 4:0 thrashing of Onduparaka.

BUL FC’s goals were from Musa Esenu in the 22th minute, Musa Walangalira in the 30th minute with Fredson Gwoto and Joseph Ssemujju sealing the win for the Oil makers in the 46th and 78th minute respectively. Despite the win, BUL FC ‘s second in their last six matches, they remain sixth on table but move to 36 points.

Onduparaka ‘s loss means they have not won a match in their last six matches; managing only one draw against Mbarara City, losing to Kyetume,SC Villa, Express FC, Vipers. They last got three points on 28th January with a 2:1 win against Busoga United. They currently stand 8th on the table with 31 points.

There was a goals fest at Kavumba recreational grounds as home side Bright Stars succumbed to a 1:3 home loss to Mbarara City. Jasper Aheebwa made two assists to set for Jude Ssemugabi who scored a brace in the 56thand 83rd minute before Solomon Okwalinga sealed the win in the 88th minute. Like BUL FC, the Mbarara side didn’t change position as they remained 7th but rised their points tally to 36.

The loss by Bright Stars was their second in succession after a recent 2:1 loss to SC Villa. Bright stars’ last lost three points on 18th January when URA FC won against them 1:0. Since then, they had endured a smooth run with wins against Proline,Police,Busog­a United,maroons and a single draw against Wakiso giants. Their remaining fixtures to the end of the season include, Onduparaka (A),Express (H),Vipers (A), Kyetume (A), Tooro United (A). They currently stand 11th on the table with 29 points -4 goal difference.

The Star Times Uganda Premier League Continues on Thursday with one fixture as Maroons host Express Fc at Luzira Prison Ground, Luzira. The two sides are off form with Express looking for their first win since a 2:1 win against Tooro United on 19th February 2020, whereas Maroons have not won a league match since a 2:0 win against BUL FC on 18th January 2020, drawing five times with one draw. The tie binds two relegation threatened sides with Express Fc standing 12th with 28 points and Maroons are 13th with 24 point.
