Bright Stars Outwits Busoga United to Maintain Its Home Unbeaten Run Against the Jinja Side

In one of the two matches played on Wednesday 5th February, 2020, Bright stars FC thrashed Jinja Side Busoga United 3:0 at Kavumba recreational grounds. Ronald Ssempala gave Bright Stars the lead in the 24th minute and Jamil Kaliisa doubled the lead in the 73rd minute before Joseph Janjali's 77th minute thunderbolt sealed the win for Paul Kiwanuka's side.

The win was an ultimate revenge to the Abbey Bogere Kikomeko coached side who beat Bright Stars 3:1 in the first leg played in Jinja. It also cemented Bright Stars' unbeaten run at home against Busoga United. Paul Kiwanuka coached side have now won four of the last eight league meetings.

Bright Stars now move from relegation zone to 11th position in the table with 23 points having played 21 matches, winning 5 and drawing the same number as they have lost, (8).

They displaced Police FC (22 points) who moved to 12th position and Express FC now replaces Bright Stars in relegation zone, 14th position with 21 points.

In Fort Portal at St.Paul Seminary play ground, problems-stricken Tooro United clinched all the three points against visiting side Wakiso Giants with a 2:1 victory.

Two second half goals from Yafeesi Mubiru in the 56th and 78th minute handed the "Entale Za Tooro" a deserved win and the first league win this year following a four match winless run that has seen the side lose and draw twice. Amos struck the lone goal for Charles Livingstone Mbabazi coached side in the 90th minute.

Despite the win, the Kabalore side didn't move out of relegation zone and stayed stationed in the 15th position on 19 points from 21 matches.

Action resumes on Friday 7th February, 2020 as Express and their new coach Wasswa Bbosa travel to Arua for an encounter with Onduparaka FC. On the same day, Mbarara City will host Police FC at Kavumba recreational grounds.
