Uganda is once again set to host the highly anticipated 9th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2025 Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities (MTWA) in collaboration with the Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority, and Talent Africa for an event to be held from May 21st to 24th, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

This year’s expo, themed "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation," is more than just a showcase of Uganda’s breathtaking landscapes and cultural heritage. It is an opportunity to bring together industry leaders, investors, media representatives, and travel enthusiasts from around the world to experience Uganda’s vibrant tourism sector firsthand.

The event aims to strengthen international partnerships, boost investment, and position Uganda as a must-visit destination for travelers seeking unique and authentic experiences.

Alongside the expo, Uganda Tourism Board is excited to introduce the "Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda" campaign, an initiative that invites Ugandans to share their most memorable travel experiences through videos, photos, and stories. This campaign is designed to ignite a passion for domestic tourism and encourage citizens to become ambassadors of Uganda’s beauty, diversity, and adventure.

POATE has grown into a flagship annual event that bridges the gap between Uganda’s tourism offerings and the global market. This year, the expo will host 70 carefully selected international buyers, over 5,000 trade visitors, and a wide array of exhibitors from across the world, fostering new business opportunities and collaborations.

It will also focus on MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, reflecting global trends in the travel and hospitality industry.

Attendees can look forward to engaging panel discussions, networking sessions, media interactions, and immersive cultural showcases that bring Uganda’s tourism story to life. Sustainability and innovation will be at the heart of POATE 2025, ensuring that the event not only drives tourism growth but also contributes to community development and environmental conservation.

Reflecting on the success of the previous edition in 2024, which attracted over 230 exhibitors and thousands of participants, Uganda Tourism Board is confident that POATE 2025 will surpass expectations. With a shared vision to make Uganda a top global tourism destination, all industry stakeholders, tour operators, hoteliers, and travel professionals are encouraged to take part in this landmark event.

As Uganda continues to elevate its tourism industry, the world is invited to explore Uganda—not just as a destination, but as an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
