Apostle Grace Lubega, the lead preacher of Phanero Ministries International, has sparked controversy after a video surfaced on social media in which he demonizes certain Buganda names, specifically Ndawula and Nandawula. In the video, Apostle Lubega claims that these names are associated with disease, sadness, and death, alleging that people who bear these names suffer from premature death.

"In Buganda, we have names like Ndawula and Nandawula. These names refer to diseases and death. People with these names often fall sick and die within a few days. That's why it's rare to find a ninety-year-old named Ndawula," Lubega stated in the circulating clip.

The comments have since triggered widespread criticism from social media users and cultural advocates, who argue that Apostle Lubega’s statements were disrespectful and hurtful to the Buganda Kingdom and its cultural heritage.

Many have called for the preacher to apologize, with some pointing out that his remarks go beyond Buganda, demeaning African traditions as a whole.

Critics have accused Apostle Lubega of perpetuating harmful stereotypes and misconceptions about African names and cultures, with some arguing that such statements only serve to deepen cultural divisions.

The preacher has yet to respond to the calls for an apology, as the debate continues to generate heated discussions online and within cultural circles.
