Tragedy struck early this morning as fire burned down popular hangout restaurant called Cafe Bravo, at Uganda House. Property worth millions was burned down to ashes just one year after the death of the owner.
Authorities responded swiftly to the scene following reports of the fire, which erupted around 5 am. Luke Owoyesigyire, Assistant Superintendent of Police and Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, confirmed the grim news, detailing the efforts to contain the blaze.
"Today, April 5th, 2024, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded to a fire outbreak at Cafe Bravo Restaurant, located at Uganda House on Kampala Road," Owoyesigyire stated. "
The fire, suspected to have ignited around 5 am, swiftly engulfed the restaurant premises. Our dedicated team from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services promptly arrived at the scene and successfully contained the fire before it could spread further throughout the building"- he added.
Despite their efforts, the fire wreaked havoc on the establishment, causing extensive damage and leaving little hope for salvaging what remained. Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway, with authorities diligently scouring the scene for clues to unravel the mystery behind the blaze.
"Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident," Owoyesigyire assured.
In the midst of this tragedy, memories of the cafe's late owner resurfaced, adding a poignant layer to the situation. With the owner's passing just a year prior, uncertainty looms over the fate of Cafe Bravo.
