Famed socialite Zari Hassan, is caught in a stormy clash with her former in-laws over the legacy of late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, say she has been giving them monthly payments but they have never given her sons anything, now she has cut them off.
Ivan Ssemwanga, a prominent businessman, passed away in 2017 due to heart complications at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several successful ventures, including numerous educational institutions in South Africa.
In a move that stirred both admiration and envy, Ssemwanga named his eldest son with Zari, Pinto Ntale, as the official heir to his vast empire. Zari has since taken on the role of property custodian, diligently preparing her sons to manage their father's businesses.
However, the situation took a dramatic turn when a leaked audio recording surfaced on social media, revealing Zari’s fallout with some of her in-laws. In the recording, Zari accuses them of fighting over Ssemwanga’s properties, which she and her children hold shares in.
Zari did not mince words as she explained that she has been distributing a portion of the property profits to her in-laws, with some receiving substantial monthly allowances. For instance, Kinene and Ssemwanga’s youngest brother were getting USD 10K and 5K a month, respectively, from Brooklyn University in South Africa. However, she revoked their benefits due to their poor conduct.
She expressed her frustration, stating that instead of supporting her in managing the properties, her in-laws have been seeking worthless advice from Kinene and bombarding her with vulgar messages.
In a fiery conclusion, Zari declared that she was not ready to bow to their demands and suggested they seek the benefits they are chasing from Ssemwanga’s final resting place in Kayunga.
