In an unexpected twist, Gagamel International singer Bebe Cool has taken a bold stance against Airtel Uganda, threatening legal action after his 17 GB data bundle mysteriously vanished, now he wants 200Million as compesation.
The saga unfolded in January when Bebe Cool, known for his chart-topping hits, expressed his discontent with Airtel Uganda's services. The singer had purchased a substantial 22 GBs of data at 21:56, only to receive a shocking alert that a mere 5 GBs remained after a single click on TikTok, leaving 17 GBs in the digital abyss.
Despite Bebe Cool's ultimatum for the return of his unused data by 10:00 am the following morning, Airtel Uganda stood firm, refusing to comply with the artist's demands.
Today, the situation escalated as Bebe Cool fired off an intention-to-sue letter, a legal missile demanding transparency and compensation. The letter stipulates a detailed inventory and usage chart of Bebe Cool's mobile data bundle between January 16th, 2024, at 21:56 hrs and January 17th, 2024, at 1:00 am.
In addition to a refund for the vanished data, the singer has demanded UGX 100,000,000 (One hundred million) to cover travel expenses and an equal amount for the inconveniences caused, all within a tight 21-day timeframe from the date of receipt of the letter.
The gravity of the letter is underscored by Bebe Cool's threat to seek legal recourse through the Courts of law if Airtel fails to comply, putting the telecom giant on notice to bear the cost, peril, and potential embarrassment.
