Even though he had been sick for years, Hon. Kato Lubwama had a final wish of never getting buried immediately after his death, he made his family promise that they would lay him to rest after 7 days and that during that week, artistes would perform at National Theater to honor his soul.
Accoridng to reports, Kato Lubwama was rushed to Stana Medical Centre in Kitebi where his body was lying lifeless, before being taken to Mulago hospital for a postmortem report.
However, according to his family, Kato Lubwama had specified in his will that he preferred to be buried after seven days and that a memorial service would be held at the Rubaga Cathedral and that because he was a former member of parliament, he would also need to be carried to the legislature for a final farewell as well as the National Theatre.
It is also said that the late Kato wanted musicians, bands and other artists to carry out seven day performances at the National Theatre. He said the family has since agreed to fulfill all these wishes.
