Goodlyfe singer Weasel Manizo and music producer/ musician Herbert Skillz have teamed up on “Wumula,” an emotional tribute song honouring late Goodlyfe star Mowzey Radio.
The collaboration, also known as “Wumula Mirembe,” features both Weasel and Herbert Skillz on vocals, with the official music video released on streaming channels.
In the song, the two artistes reflect on loss, memories and the pain of losing someone close. Its heartfelt message expresses the hope of reuniting one day, while acknowledging how life has changed since Radio’s death.
Mowzey Radio, whose real name was Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, died on February 1, 2018, aged 33, following complications from a severe head injury sustained during a bar altercation in Entebbe.
As one half of the celebrated Radio & Weasel duo under Goodlyfe Crew, Radio helped shape Uganda’s music scene with a distinctive sound blending R&B, reggae, dancehall and Afrobeat influences.
The duo became household names through songs such as “Nakudata,” “Lwaki Onumya” and “Bread and Butter,” building a strong following in Uganda and across East Africa.
The release of “Wumula” follows teasers shared in early October, when Herbert Skillz posted studio footage with Weasel, describing their work as “magic.” The Radio & Weasel Instagram account also shared clips from the recording sessions.
The new video has attracted emotional reactions from fans, with many expressing that Radio remains unforgettable and praising the song as a tribute to his enduring musical legacy. Others have used the release to remember fellow artistes who have passed away.
Through “Wumula,” Weasel and Herbert Skillz pay tribute to a musician whose contribution to Ugandan music continues to resonate with fans years after his death.
