Singer Spice Diana has been honoured as the “Best Mikolo Artist in Uganda” following her performance at the introduction ceremony of NRM official Don Vincent Bwana.
The award was presented to the singer during the ceremony held in Bulindo, Kira, where she performed for guests before receiving the recognition.
Footage recorded at the event and shared by City News Kampala on TikTok shows Spice Diana being presented with the award shortly after her performance. The singer appeared visibly excited and expressed her appreciation for the honour.
The ceremony brought together several prominent guests and entertainers, with Spice Diana among the musicians who performed during the celebrations. Bukedde also reported that Spice Diana, Stecia Mayanja and Pallaso entertained guests at Bwana’s introduction ceremony.
Spice Diana has built a strong reputation for performing at mikolo, Uganda’s traditional introduction ceremonies, where her music and live performances have made her a regular choice for celebrations.
The recognition therefore adds another moment to her growing association with Uganda’s mikolo entertainment scene.
Don Vincent Bwana, also referred to as Don Bwana, is associated with the National Resistance Movement (NRM), although publicly available information does not independently establish a formal national award body behind the “Best Mikolo Artist” title presented to Spice Diana.
For Spice Diana, however, the recognition provided another reason to celebrate after entertaining guests at the high-profile family ceremony.
