National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and the business community are mourning the sudden demise of Moses Karangwa Kalisa aka Moses Kalangwa, the Kayunga District NRM Chairperson and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, who perished in a nasty road accident on Sunday night.

The fatal incident occurred at Ssuka village along the Kayunga–Jinja highway near the Lake Oil fuel station on May 17, 2026.

According to Traffic Police spokesperson Michael Kananura, the accident involved an official government double-cabin vehicle, a Toyota Hilux registration number UG 0101 151, in which Karangwa was traveling.

The Collision: The Hilux was traveling from Kayunga toward Jinja when it collided with an unidentified motorcycle that was joining the main road near the petrol station Following the impact, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn several times.

It is also reported that three passengers sustained injuries during the crash. Karangwa suffered severe chest complications and critical body trauma.

He was rushed to Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital for emergency first aid before being transferred to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have confirmed that investigations into the exact cause of the single-vehicle overturn and the identity of the motorcyclist are still ongoing.
