Solomon Kampala, son of NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), has caused a stir online after penning a passionate post about Uganda’s political climate and how it gives him sleepless nights.
Taking to social media, Solomon declared: “If you are NRM or affiliated with NRM, unfollow and remove me as a follower. We are not one. We do not agree. We will never agree unless a peaceful resignation of power or agreement is passed.”
He went on to add: “The people of Uganda have suffered too much. I spend sleepless nights crying for my people. But one day, we will be free.”
But while his words were meant to highlight his solidarity with Ugandans and echo his father’s political fight, the internet quickly found humor in his choice of wording — especially the part where he confessed to “sleepless nights crying for his people.”
Memes and sarcastic comments flooded timelines, with netizens turning his emotional statement into a trending talking point.
This comes at a time when his father, Robert Kyagulanyi, is gearing up to contest for the presidency for the second time, making Solomon’s post both political and personal.
