Uganda’s media industry is in mourning following the sudden death of respected journalist Joseph Sseruwooza, a parliamentary correspondent and television host at BBS Terefayina. He passed away on June 19, 2026, at the Uganda Heart Institute in Mulago due to heart-related complications.

BBS Terefayina confirmed his passing in a brief emotional announcement written in Luganda:
“Kitalo! Muweereza munnaffe wano ku BBS Terefayina, Joseph Sseruwooza afudde. Joseph Sseruwooza abadde musasi w’amawulire nga asinga kugasakira ku Palamenti ate nga abadde aweereza ne Pulogulaamu #ZuukukaNensonga.”
