Defending champions Uganda Christian University welcome Nkumba University to Mukono for the second leg of their Pepsi University Football League quarter-final tie tomorrow Thursday.

The two teams could not be separated in the first leg that was played in Entebbe a fortnight ago with the game ending in a goalless draw leaving the tie wide open for either team to advance to the semi-finals of this year's Pepsi University Football League.

Ahead of the game, Nkumba head coach Bbosa Sulaiman noted that they were the better team in the first leg and were unfortunate not to win the game.

"I think we were the better team in the first leg. They boys played very well but were not clinical enough in front of the goal and we failed to score," Bbosa said. "For tomorrow's game we need to play the same way we played in the first leg and I believe this time we shall score and reach the semi-finals,"

"UCU are obviously a strong team. They are defending champions and they also played well and had some good chances to score. So we need to be careful in defence even as we fight to score," Bbosa added.

UCU coach Ahumuza Colines however says they were the better team since they managed to get a draw away and will be looking to finish the job at home.

"I think we did well in Entebbe. We managed to contain Nkumba and get a draw away which was not a bad result," Ahumuza said.

"We shall be looking to finish the job at home and shall be going all out for a win," she added.

The winner on Thursday will join St. Lawrence University and Uganda Martyrs University in the semi-finals. St. Lawrence saw off two time champions Kampala University while Uganda Martyrs saw off Bugema University to reach the semi-finals.

The last quarter-final tie will be played next week on Tuesday, October 11th when Makerere University Business School hosts Kyambogo University. MUBS edged Kyambogo 2-1 in the reverse fixture played in Kyambogo a week ago.
