Harry Kane was the hero as his side Tottenham Hotspurs edged Wolves FC 1:0 in this weeked’s English Premier League opener to take his goals tally for the club to 250.
The goal speaks a lot as regards the records the English forward is chasing among which includes England’s player with most goals, the Premier League’s all time top scorer and Tottenham’s record goal scorer.
Blizz Uganda takes you through how possible can the Tottenham Hotspurs forward achieve all these.
On chasing the Premier League’s all time top scorer record, Harry Kane who now stands at 185 goals is 75 goals from beating the record held by Alan Shearer of 260.
If Kane who is 29 years spends six more seasons at Spurs, he will be 35, the same age at which Shearer retired and an average of 13 goals will see him take on fellow English Man’s record.
Still in sight for Harry Kane is the record for a player with most goals on England’s national football team. Former Manchester United, Everton and Derby County player Wayne Rooney who is currently manger of DC United holds the record with 53 goals.
This will seemingly be the easiest record for Harry Kane to break. The Spurs forward surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton’s 49 in June and currently stand second with 50 goals, three less of Wayne Rooney. He can beat the record in the next World Cup in Qatar in November, 2022.
In the tournament, Kane will also aim at taking on Gary Lineker as the player with most goals in major tournaments.Kane is currently tied with Garry Lineker on 10.
The other record within reach by Harry Kane is player with most goals for Spurs, with his goal against Wolves the 250th to his name at Spurs, Kane is only 16 goals shy of breaking the record and he can have that done by the end of this season.
Lastly, is the player with most English Premier League Golden boots. The record is being held by Thierry Henry who for the same reason was voted as the best Premier League’s player after 30 years. Kane is one boot to be level with the former French forward and only two boots to dethroning Henry who also played Barcelona, all these records are liable to being broken by Harry Kane and this will definitely leave him, Harry Kane as England’s all-time goal-machine.
