Sanyuka TV Apologizes for Airing Gravity Omutujju's Interview Supporting Gender Based Violence

Sanyuka TV has come out and apologised to the public for airing rapper Gravity Omutujju's interview that supported Gender Based Violence last week saying that it was not their intention to rejoice beaten wives.

While facing straight in the cameras, the 'Tusimbudde' singer capitalised on a 4-minute interview with Kawalya Isaac Kays on Sanyuka TV's UnCUT gossip show to reveal how “beating women is fun”

The rapper who without remorse showed support to embattled singer Weasel who allegedly battered his baby mama Sandra Teta revealed how he is capable worsening the situation incase he feels disrespected by a woman.

Despite the singer coming out with a heartfelt apology on national TV as he revealed how he uttered his comments jokingly, revelers most especially victims of Gender blBased Violence have been on Sanyuka TV's neck trolling them for airing such demoralising content which seemed to be supportive of domestic violence

Next Media's Head of Corporate Affairs, Desire Derekford Mugumisa had to issue a statement of apology on Monday released by Sanyuka TV regarding the airing of Gravity Omutujju’s controversial interview where he revealed how the video clip was cut out of a longer interview that the station had with Gravity.

He apologised to the public and victims of Gender Based Violence thereby seeking for a second chance to the Naguru based media company.

“On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, we ran an over 4-minute interview with Ugandan artiste, Gravity Omutujju, on our late-night entertainment news show, Uncut, from which a snippet was cut and independently posted, resultantly putting it out of context. In hindsight, however, we recognize that we ought to have been more mindful of the significant risks for survivors and others regarding Gender-Based Violence, a vice we largely condemn as a brand. We are truly sorry!

We have, together with Gravity, since undertaken measures to correct our wrongs, starting with the artiste’s concerted efforts to apologize for the comments on Sanyuka Television," read the statement.
