Mbarara City Football Club saw off tax collectors URA Football club in tense penalty shoot-outs following a 1 all stalemate in normal time. Mbarara City won on 11:10 penalties shootouts after a draw that saw URA FC scored first in the 43rd minute through Shafiq Kagimu but the "Ankole Lions" equalised in the 78th minute through Solomon Okwalinga.
It was a real revenge of the pumpkin head after the "Tax Collectors" overtaxed Mbarara City last year on the same level this tournament, the round of 32.
Mbarara City hence joined the other seven Uganda Premier League sides left in the round of 16 that include Police FC, Bright Stars, Onduparaka,Bul FC Wakiso Giants, UPDF and defending champions Vipers SC.
In the other round of 32 fixtures played, defending champions Vipers Sc outmanoeuvred Kalongo United FC with a 3:1 lecturing. Milton Kaliisa (10'),Yiga Najib (39') and Yunus Ssentamu (68') gave the Robertinho coached side the victory whereas Bosco Okot's 47th minute goal only turned out a consolation for the home side Kalongo FC. FUFA Big League has three sides left in the tournament; Ndejje University, Maroons FC and Kataka FC whereas the Regional and District Football Associations have four representatives at the round of 16, Iganga Young, Mbale Heroes Fc and Boma fc, TIPSA FC respectively.
